Not every electric Laker uses the same power system. Learn what changes between a rear trolling motor and a console-controlled electric outboard.
Several Laker packages use electric power, but the word “electric” does not describe one standard setup. Compare the actual motor, controls, battery and charger to understand what you are buying.
The rear trolling-motor packages
The 612 Trolling Fisher and 712 DLX start with a 55 lb. thrust rear Minn Kota trolling motor, marine battery and 6-amp charger. These packages give buyers a starting point for a boat with individual fishing seats or a mix of fishing chairs and lounge seating.
The electric-outboard packages
The 712 Electric lists an ePropulsion Navy 6.0 outboard, E163 battery, charger and top control, with center-console steering. The 712 Pro-Lounge uses an ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Evo and a side console. Its rear lounge arrangement leaves no space for a gas tank, making that configuration electric-only.
Compare the equipment, not just the name
- Which motor and battery are included in the selected package?
- Where are the battery and controls mounted?
- What charger is supplied, and how will you charge between outings?
- Is a front fishing motor included or optional?
- Does your chosen seating layout support the motor and controls you want?
Plan around your own outings
Speed and runtime depend on the selected equipment, load and conditions. The 712 Electric Q&A describes a display with battery and remaining-runtime information, but not a guaranteed travel distance or automatic safe-return calculation. Confirm the features of your selected system and its charging requirements before ordering.
