Laminated Rotomolding high density Polyethylene is a two step process that creates one part so there are no leak points initially. Leaks however can and do happen when deck hatches are not sealed, or anything gets drilled through the boat. The boat will not sink because the foam is inside the skin of the boat, however to get water out is a problem. Water finds little uneven spots on the inside to settle in and can cause the already heavy boat to be heavier. The best mini pontoon boats are foam filled and sealed so water has no where to go. Sealed is second best and good as long as seal is not breached with deck hatches or unsealed drains screws etc...
