The African Queen is made of heavy fiberglass. The aluminum paddlewheel is direct driven by the two front passengers. The paddlewheel has 8 blades for smooth efficient operation. All bearings are self lubricating. The whole paddlewheel assembly is easy to remove for service or to replace parts. The rudder is very large , for good maneuverability.
